Old Spitalfields Market is my all time favourite London market, as the stalls are often run by the designers themselves, so you get to meet and talk to the makers; it is undercover, perfect for the London weather; and it is surrounded by great shops. This market is open everyday, but the main market days are Thursday till Sunday with each day different themes and different stalls so check out their website to see what is coming up this month.
Sunday is my favourite day as there is often young new designers and small boutique stalls selling their fabulous wares, mixed in with quality vintage fashion and accessories. There are plenty of great food stalls as well as some great restaurants and cafes in the surrounding shops so turn up with an empty stomach and loose pants as you will find plenty here to tempt your taste buds.
Favourite stalls: Hard to choose with such a abundant array of fabulous stalls but if I had to narrow it down to 2 it would have to be Studio Harlen where Sophie and Kate are designing and producing appealing bags, clutches and ipad covers with all the materials being printed and made in London and Littlepearlbutton with their gorgeous jewelery packaged in delightful handmade origami boxes
Favourite shop: Elemental with their eclectic range of found, restored and vintage furniture and lighting is always worth checking out as it will bring back some memories and make you wish you had a bigger home so you could own it all.
This market is just a short stroll from Liverpool Street tube station
