Covent Garden Markets

I love Covent Garden markets, for its mecca of market stalls, beautiful retail shops, but most of all for the street performers. I could spend many hours browsing through the shops and stalls but I come back again and again, to watch the street performers drum up an audience. If you see a crowd forming it is worth stopping and enjoying the show as you may experience magic, hear some hip hop or opera, see jugglers and acrobats perform breath taking acts,  whatever the performance you are guaranteed to be entertained. Covent Garden Markets is divided into three main areas: Apple Market, East Colonnade market and Jubilee market hall. The stalls vary depending on the day so it is worth checking out their website if you are after something in particular.

Apple Markets – Miniature collectibles

My favourite area of the Covent Garden markets would have to be the Apple Market, which  on Wednesday has hand-made arts, crafts and on Mondays antiques. This is the perfect place to find some exquisite jewellery and original art works at a reasonable price.

Fav stall of the day: Miniature collectibles with their lovely etchings of young ballet dancers, which would be perfect for any little girls room.

East Colonnade Market – Lavendes soap

East Colonnade Market has only a few stalls ranging from hand-made soap, jewellery,  accessories for the home,  babies clothing, and lollies, however it is worth a look and it is close to the street performers.

Fav Stall of the day: Lavendes soap for their irresistible soaps with fruits and flowers.

Jubilee Market Hall

Jubilee Market Hall

Jubilee Market hall stalls vary depending on the day. During the week it is a general market with stalls offering souvenirs, clothes and quirky gifts. While the weekends it is mainly  arts and crafts on sale. During the week this is a great place to buy all your souvenirs or gifts for those hard to buy for.

  1. Nice post. I learn something new and challenging on blogs I stumbleupon every day.
It’s always helpful to read articles from other authors and use something from other sites.
